Football fever won’t be the only thing soaring over Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday as Alabama takes on Texas A&M. Three F-5 fighter jets will join the game-day excitement, with NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman piloting one.

The Crimson Tide hosts the Aggies for its homecoming game on Oct. 24 at 2:30 p.m. Central, with ABC coverage. UA Gameday lists several other activities planned for the day, including the homecoming parade at 10:00 a.m.

The flyover is part of NASA’s nationwide Inspiration Tour, which gives communities a closer look at the agency’s work in aviation and space exploration. In Tuscaloosa, that will include something for fans to enjoy on the ground, too.

NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville is supporting a NASA Experience Zone on Champions Lane, where visitors can meet team members and explore exhibits from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Central. No game ticket is required.

Families can see an inflatable Space Launch System rocket and displays featuring the Starship and Blue Moon human landing systems. The exhibits will highlight NASA’s Artemis campaign and efforts to return astronauts to the moon.

Visitors will also find information about NASA internships, along with opportunities to meet NASA team members, learn about their work and take photos with the displays.

The Inspiration Tour also brings together universities, businesses and public sector organizations to connect NASA with the people and technology supporting American space exploration.

The tour will wrap up Nov. 7–8 with MAX POWER, a family-friendly event on and near Kennedy Space Center in Florida honoring America’s 250th anniversary. It will feature next-generation aircraft, spacecraft, autonomous vehicles and other technologies that could shape how people travel through the air and into space.
