As set by a resolution passed by the ALGOP state executive committee, candidate qualifying will open Tuesday, January 4, 2022, and will close Friday, January 28, 2022.
The federal offices that will appear on the 2022 ALGOP primary ballot include a U.S. Senate seat and all seven U.S. House of Representatives seats.
The constitutional statewide offices on the ballot include governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, commissioner of agriculture and industries, state treasurer, and state auditor.
Additionally, four state board of education seats, two state supreme court seats and two public service commission seats will be on the ballot.
On the local level, all district attorney positions and dozens of circuit and district judicial seats will be featured on the ballot, as well as candidates seeking election to contested ALGOP state executive committee seats.
ALGOP chairman John Wahl expressed excitement over the upcoming election cycle and stated the party’s intentions of working to help Republicans regain control of Congress.
“The Alabama Republican Party is excited about the 2022 election cycle,” proclaimed Wahl. “We are looking forward to a vigorous campaign season and fighting for the right and values of the people of Alabama. We plan on doing our part to help Republicans take back the U.S. House and Senate as we work to Restore America.”
Those who wish to qualify to appear on the Republican Party ballot may complete documentation online or in person at ALGOP’s Birmingham headquarters. More information can be found on the party’s official website.
