Alabama Wind Creek casinos, OWA amusement park now open again

Alabama’s world-class OWA amusement park and three Wind Creek casinos, all owned by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, have reopened as of Monday after being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Park at OWA reopened on Friday, while the Wind Creek resort-style gaming properties in Atmore, Wetumpka and Montgomery reopened Monday.

All four properties have implemented comprehensive heightened health and safety measures in reopening.

OWA’s new policies, which can be found here, will include health screenings for guests before entering The Park at OWA, installation of additional hand sanitizing stations throughout the resort, enhanced cleaning and sanitization practices, and added signage to encourage social distancing.

Wind Creek Hospitality’s new policies will also ensure that guests can enjoy themselves as safely as possible. This will include temperature checks for all guests and employees, and masks or face coverings will be required for everyone. You can read more here.

The gaming and hospitality arm of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians recently announced “The Wind Creek Standard,” emphasizing its commitment to providing the best possible guest experience in a safe, responsible manner.

Poarch Band of Creek Indians Tribal Chair and CEO Stephanie Bryan was featured in a video explaining that The Wind Creek Standard is indicative of the tribe’s continued commitment to the communities it serves in its home state.
