Alabama FarmPAC, the political action committee of the Alabama Farmers Federation, has announced its endorsement of Young Boozer for re-election as Alabama State Treasurer.
Federation President Jimmy Parnell said Boozer is a friend to Alabama farmers with a proven record of conservative fiscal management.
“Alabama has never had a more experienced treasurer than Young Boozer,” Parnell said. “Following a successful banking career, he served two full terms as State Treasurer from 2011-2019 before being asked by Gov. Kay Ivey to return in 2021 to fill a vacancy created by another appointment. Alabama is financially stronger and more efficient thanks to Treasurer Boozer’s leadership. His conservative management has benefited state government, and he’s helped thousands of Alabamians save for college and their long-term needs.”

During his first term, Boozer successfully negotiated a settlement for Alabama’s troubled pre-paid college, or PACT, program. He also expanded the CollegeCounts 529 program and implemented Alabama ABLE accounts, which allow people with disabilities to save money without losing public benefits. Under Boozer’s leadership, the Treasury became self-funded and reduced staff from 46 to 26.
“I greatly appreciate the Alabama Farmers Federation endorsing me as State Treasurer,” Boozer said. “I am always thankful of their long-standing support.”
Known for his wit and wisdom, Boozer is a frequent guest at Farmers Federation conferences.
“Treasurer Boozer has a long history with Alfa and the Federation,” Parnell said. “We are proud to support him as he seeks to lead the Treasury for four more years.”
