7. Out-of-control wildfires in Canada are causing smoke to blanket the Northeast and is the latest reason to spend $90-plus trillion on climate change. U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), and plenty of talking heads insist this is actually a climate change issue. No.
6. State tourism dollars have doubled. The tourism dollars are going to very few locations, however, “[t]he report showed that Baldwin County, Jefferson County, Madison County, Mobile County, and Montgomery County saw the most visitors in 2022, representing 71.3% of visitors to the state.”
5. After literal fist-fights outside of school board meetings in California and Maryland over gender and sexuality, we continue to see the rift in America over these issues. Two hundred LGBTQ groups are now issuing demands to Target that they re-enter the culture war on their behalf. This is not going to happen, read the marvelously decorated rooms.

The Alabama-based Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights front group for gathering offshore savings accounts with $160 million, has declared “Moms for Liberty” and 11 additional “parents’ rights” groups, “anti-government extremist groups.” U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) argues that the SPLC needs to lose its tax-exempt status because “(e)ngaging in systematic defamation is not a tax-exempt purpose.”
3. While Alabama is trying to keep its drug dealers and gangbangers in jail, California is addressing issues with shoplifting by criminalizing the act of trying to stop the criminals.
2. U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) tweeted that the head of the Space Command “couldn’t envision any circumstance where he wouldn’t recommend Huntsville as the permanent SPACECOM HQ. He had no concerns with the initial decision.” Oddly, the Colorado GOP said they don’t want Space Command HQ if open access to abortion is the cost.
1. This might be where they actually get him! Former President Donald Trump has now received a “target” letter but he has told The New York Times Maggie Habberman that “no one has told me I’m being indicted.” Speculation abounds with special counsel Jack Smith presenting evidence before both a Florida grand jury and one in Washington, D.C., too. The events of Jan. 6 are being probed, as is the classified documents case.
