7. Non-convicted murderer OJ Simpson’s death reminds people of one of the most absurd instances where blatantly obvious false cries of racism were used to defend a person in the public eye and the courtroom. Simpson admitted he did it, a juror admitted they knew he did it, and CNN on-air personalities recalled people celebrating him getting away with murder.
6. Longtime Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely was paroled after serving one year of his three-year sentence for stealing from the inmates he oversaw. The crowd cheered as he was released, which is odd, and some people are not happy because old murderers are still in jail.
5. Former President Donald Trump wants more debates even though the Republican National Committee has already expressed skepticism over the Commission on Presidential Debates’ partisanship. It is hard to see President Joe Biden’s campaign agreeing to this, but the Trump campaign is pushing for additional and earlier 2024 presidential debates, expressing Trump’s willingness to debate Biden “anytime, anywhere, anyplace” and the TV networks want it too.
4. The Alabama State House passed a Juneteenth bill, for some reason they feel the need to tie it to Jefferson Davis’s birthday. State offices wouldn’t close that day, rather employees could choose to take Juneteenth off or Jefferson Davis’ birthday, offering flexibility for employees to observe it if they choose.
3. The transgender Space Camp employee reassigned after it was found he violated still-undisclosed policies regarding students at the state-run facility has announced they are fleeing the state for fear of violence. This silliness is an effective grift and will almost certainly lead to media coverage of her flight from the state helping her raise multiple times the $6,000 he is seeking.
2. The transgender biological-male, who identifies as “pansexual”, who attacked the Attorney General’s office in Montgomery was an angry, loner, far-left activist who sympathized with Antifa, was angry his family would not accept him, and “talked about how he has a strong urge for violence,” according to his former co-workers. The downplaying of political violence by the local media is undercut by their willingness to openly note the political allegiance of a suspected murderer the next day.
1. Alabama Democrats have submitted a bill to let President Joe Biden on the ballot and are demanding “equal treatment” as the media and their Democrats change their tune after supporting former President Donald Trump being removed from multiple states ballots. Alabama’s Republican super-majority could block this move, if they want to, however that seems unlikely but, short of a new legislation, Secretary of State Wes Allen is not inclined to bail Democrats out or “run the Democratic party.”
