Down two points with less than three seconds left in the football game, Hillcrest High School of Tuscaloosa on Friday night found themselves in a bind playing at Wetumpka.
While Hillcrest had possession of the ball, they were on their own 41-yard line, way outside of field goal range — and probably too far for even a Hail Mary attempt.
However, Hillcrest apparently still had hope.
The quarterback took the snap, before quickly slinging a pass to his running back in the left flat.
What happened next broke the internet — and Wetumpka’s hearts.
