Freddy, the masked German fan who became a viral sensation on X during the World Cup this past summer in the United States, made his grand return to America this past weekend with a trip to the Auburn vs. Florida game at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Sharing some pictures from the weekend with his face still covered as it was all summer long, Freddy even shared a photo with one of the faces of SEC football, SEC Network host Paul Finebaum.

What was truly hilarious though was Freddy’s reveal that Finebaum even made the trip to the iconic SkyBar with the German crew, though it was short lived.

“He was a really nice guy. And he reached legend status for me and my friends when he came to the Skybar with us,” he wrote. “We had no idea how famous he actually was, but the scenes in there when he entered the place were legendary.”

The Finebaum/Freddy/SkyBar collab came to a close fairly quickly. Finebaum said he was mobbed by fans looking for selfies from the moment he walked in the door.

“Our boss after a few minutes [of the selfies and chaos] became concerned for security reasons and ushered one or two of us out of the bar,” Paul Finebaum told Yellowhammer News. “Freddy and his entourage helped us out and down to street. Then, he asked for a picture and we talk a few more minutes.”

In a summer of viral moments for Freddy, meeting Finebaum had to be right near the top of the list.
