As prospective 2022 gubernatorial election candidates Lynda Blanchard and Tim James are finalizing their future political plans, incumbent Gov. Kay Ivey is going on offense with her reelection effort.
During Saturday’s SEC Championship Game broadcasted on the CBS affiliates in all five Alabama media markets — Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery and Dothan — the Ivey campaign was on air with a 30-second spot promoting Ivey’s stances on education, elections and abortion that included a cameo from former President Donald Trump.
“Sometimes, it’s like the world’s gone crazy,” Ivey said. “Thank God we live in Alabama. There’s no Critical Race Theory in our schools. I signed the strongest pro-life law in America. I stood with Trump to make sure no election here can ever be stolen. And we’ve created thousands of new jobs. Here in Alabama, we pray to God, protect life and honor freedom. And as your Governor, we always will.”
