UA’s Moore named to Top 40 Under 40 for Small Business Development Center

Emily Moore of the University of Alabama’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has been recognized as a national SBDC Top 40 Under 40. The honor recognizes 40 leaders under the age of 40 who have displayed exceptional business acumen and innovative thinking.

Moore is a research director and finance specialist with the SBDC’s Capital Access Program team.

“Congratulations to Emily for this well-deserved recognition. She clearly represents the professionalism and expertise of the entire Alabama SBDC team,” said Dan Blakley, associate vice president for economic and business engagement. “The Alabama SBDC continues to positively impact the lives of business owners and employees across the state.

“The work that Emily and the Alabama SBDC team do every day is clearly aligned with service mission of the University of Alabama, and we are proud to serve as the host institution.”

Over the last five years, her team has helped the state’s entrepreneurs secure more than $546 million in growth capital. She is based at the Birmingham SBDC office at the Innovation Depot.

“Emily has certainly earned this recognition,” said Bill Cummins, executive state director of the Alabama SBDC. “She is results-oriented and passionately committed to providing innovative and well-researched solutions for Alabama’s entrepreneurs.”
