U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) had a two-word response Tuesday to Kamala Harris’s remarks about a potential 2028 presidential run after the former Vice President suggested she may seek the presidency again.
Tuberville wrote on X, quote-tweeting a clip of Harris speaking at the National Action Network Convention in New York City, where Rev. Al Sharpton asked her directly whether she planned to seek the presidency again.
Harris lost all seven swing states in 2024, becoming the first Democratic nominee to lose the popular vote since 2004.
“Please run,” Tuberville wrote, even tagging Harris’s account.
Harris gave her clearest signal yet of a potential 2028 bid during her appearance at the convention Friday, telling Sharpton she is actively considering another campaign.
“Listen, I might, I might. I’m thinking about it. I’m thinking about it,” Harris said.
The National Action Network Convention served as an early gathering of potential 2028 Democratic presidential contenders, with former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, and several others also appearing. Harris leads current 2028 Democratic primary polling at 31 percent, according to a March Center Square survey of more than 1,100 Democratic and left-leaning independent voters.
Harris lost to President Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
