U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) will make a campaign stop in Marshall County next month as he heads into the final weeks of his run for governor.

The Marshall County Republican Party will host a rally featuring Tuberville on Oct. 15 from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Marshall County RSVP Building in Guntersville.

The event comes less than three weeks before Alabama voters head to the polls for the Nov. 3 general election. Tuberville, who currently represents Alabama in the U.S. Senate, is the Republican nominee for governor. He will face former U.S. Sen. Doug Jones, the Democratic nominee, in November.

The race is a rematch for the two. Jones won a 2017 special election to the U.S. Senate and served until 2021. Tuberville defeated Jones in the 2020 Senate election and succeeded him in office. The two won their respective gubernatorial nominations in the May 19 primary.

The Marshall County Republican Party said the Guntersville rally is an opportunity for area Republicans and community members to gather and hear from Tuberville ahead of the election. The party said the event is also intended to encourage Republican participation and voter turnout.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Tuberville to Marshall County and bring Republicans from across our community together as we head into the final weeks before the General Election,” said Noah Campbell, chairman of the Marshall County Republican Party. “Marshall County has a strong tradition of conservative leadership, and this rally is an opportunity to build on that enthusiasm, encourage Republicans to get involved and, most importantly, make sure they turn out to vote on November 3.”

Local Republican supporters, elected officials, community leaders and members of the public are invited to attend.
