U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville and U.S. Rep. Dale Strong delivered sharp messages aimed at Democrats and the political left over the weekend, emphasizing patriotism and opposition to socialism ahead of November’s general election.
Tuberville (R-Auburn) offered the more succinct message Sunday.
If you hate America, LEAVE.
We don’t want you here.

“If you hate America, LEAVE,” Tuberville wrote. “We don’t want you here.”
His comments came as Strong (R-Huntsville) separately argued that Republicans should increasingly frame the political divide as a contest between conservatism and socialism.
Speaking Saturday to the Madison County Republican Men’s Club, Strong said socialists have “hijacked” the Democratic Party and urged conservative voters to turn out in November.
“In many cases, it used to be Republicans versus Democrats. It’s now conservatives versus socialists,” Strong said, arguing that capitalism has made the United States the best place in the world to live.
Strong said Republicans should continue emphasizing that contrast during the general election campaign.
He also pointed to recent victories by candidates on the Democratic Party’s left flank, including Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan’s U.S. Senate primary and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, as evidence of socialism gaining influence within the party.
Strong offered a characteristically blunt response for Americans interested in socialism, suggesting they travel to Cuba and experience the system themselves before advocating for it in the United States.
Tuberville has previously taken aim at Mamdani over his policies and political views, including saying last month that the New York City mayor should be sent to Guantanamo Bay.
