Former Alabama superstar quarterback and current Miami Dolphin Tua Tagovailoa has been the subject of much speculation this offseason as he and the team negotiate a new contract.
The deal finally got done on Friday afternoon: Tagovailoa signed a 4-year, $212.4 million deal which includes at least $167 million in guaranteed money.

Tagovailoa’s deal makes him the third-highest paid quarterback in the entire league by annual salary with $53.1 million. He now only trails Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence ($55 million each), both of whom also signed lucrative extensions in the last year.
At Alabama, Tagovailoa played from 2017-2019 and had a legendary career, with his greatest moment coming during his freshman season when he took over for Jalen Hurts in the national championship and led the Crimson Tide to a comeback victory over the Georgia Bulldogs.
This past season in 2023, Tagovailoa led the NFL in passing yards with 4,624 yards and was named as a Pro Bowler after throwing 29 touchdown passes as well.
He continues to represent the University of Alabama in a positive light and will now continue to do so in Miami for years to come.
