Alabama’s Congressman for the 6th District, Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover), has picked up his strongest endorsement yet in his reelection bid to continue representing the Birmingham area in the U.S. Congress.
Former President Donald Trump made the announcement on Truth Social Monday night.
“Congressman Gary Palmer is a tremendous advocate for Alabama’s 6th Congressional District,” Trump wrote on his official platform.
Another great endorsement from @realDonaldTrump. @USRepGaryPalmer is my congressman, was influential in shaping policy when we were in the White House, and will play a huge role in DJT’s efforts to save America when we’re back in 2025. He also happens to be a great guy. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/evWn0Ww6op

Palmer, who has represented the district in Congress since 2015, is facing competition from two challengers in the March 2024 Republican primary. His time in Washington has seen him accrue influence within the House Republican Caucus, particularly on matters of policy, which Trump made a point to highlight.

“As Chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, Gary is working hard to advance our America First agenda in Congress. He is fighting to Secure the Border, Strengthen our Military, Lower your Taxes, Defend our Second Amendment, and Make America Energy Independent,” Trump wrote, also adding Palmer, “will never let you down!”
In August, ahead of an address to the Alabama Republican Party’s summer dinner, Trump announced that he secured the endorsement of all GOP Congressmen in Alabama’s delegation.
“After eight years of Obama-Biden socialist policies, in his first term, President Trump’s America First agenda put our nation on a more secure and prosperous path, proving that the Trump policies are the right policies for the American people,” Palmer wrote in a joint statement with Alabama’s GOP Congressmen in their endorsement.
