Tigers rise, Tide fall in latest AP Poll

This week’s new college basketball AP Top 25 Poll saw movement for both teams in the Yellowhammer State once again.

Alabama dropped just one spot after being destroyed by Kentucky on the road in Lexington from No. 13 to No. 14. The Tide also defeated ranked Florida at home last Wednesday.

Auburn, on the other hand, earned a big road win against Georgia without star forward Jaylin Williams, defeating the Bulldogs by a score of 97-76 after being off during the week.

For their efforts, Bruce Pearl’s squad rose from No. 14 to No. 11 and on the cusp of being back in the top ten.

It’s a huge week coming up for both teams: Alabama will hit the road to Oxford to take on a struggling Ole Miss team before a game-of-the-year type matchup at home this Saturday night against Tennessee with College Gameday in town.

Auburn has to go to Knoxville on Wednesday to take on Tennessee in what should be the Tigers’ toughest test yet before a rematch on Saturday against a Mississippi State team that defeated Auburn just a couple of weeks ago.

Things are starting to heat up with the regular season coming to a close and just four games remaining for each team.
