Three of the best SEC matchups to watch this Saturday

Fans in the Yellowhammer State may look and see a below average college football slate this week. With the Alabama Crimson Tide taking on Vanderbilt in what should be a blowout and the Auburn Tigers headed to Athens to take their drubbing from Georgia, there may not be much excitement on the gridiron in the state.

But here are three great SEC games for fans to watch in each of the three time slots:

11:00 a.m. CST: No. 9 Missouri @ No. 25 Texas A&M:

Despite the rankings here, the Aggies are actually favored at home in this one by just under a field goal. It’s the first real test for a Missouri team that has limped to some victories and we should find out whether or not the Tigers are for real. For the Aggies meanwhile, it’s a chance to quietly get to 4-1, and more importantly 3-0 in the SEC.

2:30 p.m. CST: No. 9 Ole Miss @ South Carolina:

The Rebels were expected to compete for a conference title this season and a spot in the College Football Playoff, but the best team Lane Kiffin has had in Oxford found a way to lose to Kentucky at home last week. Their season isn’t over, but South Carolina is one of the toughest places to play in the conference and this has now become a must-win for Ole Miss as they look to right the ship.

6:30 p.m. CST: No. 4 Tennessee @ Arkansas:

Don’t let the two touchdown spread fool you here. Razorback fans in a night game with a desperate football team is a very dangerous thing. This is a Tennessee team that has arch-rival Florida then Alabama the next two weeks and must not get caught napping. Josh Heupel will likely have his team ready to play, but this could be close in the fourth quarter if the Vols are caught snoozing.
