Alabama Speaker of the House Nathaniel Ledbetter (R-Rainsville) congratulated six House Republican incumbents Wednesday after all six picked up primary victories Tuesday night, calling the wins “hard-fought and well-earned.”
The six lawmakers Ledbetter recognized, State Reps. James Lomax (R-Huntsville), Rick Rehm (R-Dothan), Chad Robertson (R-Heflin), Chris Pringle (R-Mobile), Susan DuBose (R-Hoover), and Steve Clouse (R-Ozark), reflect a segment of the House Republican Caucus ranging from leadership and committee chairmen to first-term members defending their seats for the first time.
“Congratulations to all of Alabama’s republican primary winners, especially our House incumbents,” Ledbetter wrote.
“Serving in public office is by no means easy, and stepping up to offer yourself to serve takes courage, conviction, and a willingness to put your community first. I appreciate each of these public servants for answering that call and for their commitment to serving the people of Alabama.”
In his dispatch, Ledbetter said that House Republicans are “already gearing up for the general” election in November.

Tuesday’s primary was not uniformly kind to House Republican incumbents.
State Reps. Phillip Pettus (R-Killen), Matt Simpson (R-Daphne), Greg Barnes (R-Jasper), and Jim Carns (R-Mountain Brook) all lost their primary contests, while State Rep. Frances Holk-Jones (R-Foley) was forced into a June 16 runoff.
