See the groundbreaking plans for the McWane Economic Education Center in downtown Birmingham, spearheaded by Junior Achievement of Alabama and jumpstarted by a $4 million gift from the McWane family.

This project will bring two experiential learning centers — JA BizTown and JA Finance Park — to life for 6th and 8th graders gain hands-on experience with financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and workforce readiness, with the target to reach 20,000 students each year.

Located on 6th Ave North and 22nd Street, the center is designed to immerse students in real-world scenarios. At JA BizTown, students will run a mini-city, stepping into roles like business owners, employees, and consumers to gain firsthand business and financial experience. Here’s an inside look:
