Ronda Walker, Montgomery County Commissioner, endorses Caroleene Dobson in Congressional GOP runoff

Montgomery County Commissioner Ronda Walker announced on Wednesday her endorsement of Caroleene Dobson in the April 16 Republican runoff election for Alabama’s Second Congressional District seat.

Walker has served in the District Three seat on the Montgomery County Commission since 2014 and chose to voluntarily term-limit herself by retiring this year after a decade of service.

“Caroleene Dobson has the fresh voice and new ideas that we need standing for Alabama in the committee rooms, corridors, and chambers of the U.S. Congress,” Walker said.

“She is conservative to her core, and like so many of us who are deeply concerned about the direction of our nation, Caroleene is determined to inject a good dose of conservative Alabama values into government and put the U.S. back on the right track.”

After being diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer, which she successfully combatted, Walker was recognized for never missing a Montgomery County Commission meeting throughout her chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

A former U.S. Senate and House of Representatives staffer, Walker was selected as the River Region Living Citizen of the Year in 2016 and remains active in numerous charities, community groups, and Republican organizations.

“Entering into public service takes courage, commitment, and a true servant’s heart, and I know Caroleene has stepped forward because preserving our faith and freedom is her mission,” Walker said.

“Unlike career politicians who backslap insiders and put their own careers and desires first, Caroleene has deep roots in the Second District, and she is fiercely committed to the state she proudly calls home, the nation she loves, and the fellow Alabamians she seeks to serve.”
