One of the more recognizable accomplishments in the early going of former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ 2020 U.S. Senate bid is that he has gained support from many of his former U.S. Senate colleagues.
Immediately out of the gate, Sessions received the endorsements of Sens. Richard Shelby (R-Tuscaloosa), Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), Pat Roberts (R-Kan.), Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.), Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.), John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), John Boozman (R-Ark.), Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) and Deb Fischer (R-Neb.).
Two of those senators, Shelby and Inhofe, are taking their support a little further for Sessions and appearing at a fundraiser for the former senator early next year in Huntsville.
According to an invitation obtained by Yellowhammer News, $1,000 gets you in the door, and $5,000 gets you into the “VIP Reception.”

One of Sessions’ opponents did not receive the news favorably. Former Auburn University head football coach Tommy Tuberville scoffed at the price tag.
