Rep. Moore: Iran ‘needs to be held accountable’

In response to the recent Hamas terrorist attack against Israel, U.S. Rep. Barry Moore believes the Biden administration needs to do stop Iran from supporting terrorists in the Middle East.

During his speech from the oval office Thursday, President Joe Biden criticized the Iranian regime for supporting Hamas, but has still not frozen the $6 billion released to the country earlier this year.

Recently on WVNN’s “The Yaffee Program,” Moore (R-Enterprise) emphasized the need to put pressure on Iran.

“I think Iran is already involved. I think they’ve been behind this thing the whole time,” Moore said about the Hamas terrorist attack against Israel. “The $6 billion that Biden supposedly freed up a few weeks ago on 9/11 and then the billions since Biden has lifted the sanctions, the money that they’ve been able to make has allowed them to fund Hezbollah. We know they’re tired to Hezbollah and Hamas as well. I think that Iran’s fingerprints are all over this thing…and they need to be held accountable with sanctions.

The congressman was willing to give some credit to Biden for supporting Israel after the attack.

“I do applaud Joe Biden, it seems he’s finally gotten on the offensive here in the last day or say,” he said. “And there are a lot of Democrats in this country that are Jewish descent that say ‘Hey Mr. President we need to lead on this.’ They’re our ally in the region and I think that it’s very important that we help support them every way we can.”

Moore said Israel can no longer put up with terrorist threats against innocent civilians in the country.

“I was in Israel a few months ago and one thing I noticed about them is, quite honestly, the nation of Israel is reactive,” he said. “Their weapons are defensive weapons. The Iron Dome actually shoots down missiles that are launched at them unprovoked from Hamas. There’s reactive armor on their tanks. It fires back out when you shoot at them. So they are a defensive nation.

“Israel has tried to do what they could to keep peace in the region, but when you go in and start killing men, women, and children in their beds and in their homes, cutting babies’ heads off, then it’s time for Netanyahu to react and I support Bibi Netanyahu doing what he needs to do, protecting his people and protecting his country.”

He also reiterated the need for the U.S. to stand with Israel.

“They are a nation of peace and they’ve been attacked and it’s time that they’re allowed to fight back and I don’t think we should tie their hands behind their back,” Moore said.
