Regions Bank recognized as a 2024 military friendly employer

Birmingham-based Regions Bank, the largest bank in the state according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), has for the fourth year in a row been recognized as a Military Friendly Employer.

The designation comes from Military Friendly, an organization that grades companies and corporations willingness to provide veterans with jobs that utilize their prior military experience.

“Regions recognizes the value veterans and their spouses bring to the bank by leveraging their strengths, talents, and knowledge to serve our customers and communities,” said Clara Green, head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for Regions Bank. “We are grateful to everyone who served in the military, and we are committed to having a military-friendly culture where all can thrive. We are extremely proud to receive this recognition again.”

Kayla Lopez, Senior Director of Military Partnerships at Military Friendly, called Regions an “exemplary employer.”

“Organizations earning the Military Friendly Employers designation have wholeheartedly invested in comprehensive and impactful initiatives that bring about positive, life-changing results for our valued service members, dedicated military spouses, and esteemed veterans within their ranks,” Lopez said. “We salute these exemplary employers who raise the bar and understand that hiring military personnel is not merely an act of goodwill but a testament to a standard that truly embodies sound business wisdom.”

“Their steadfast commitment to integrating military personnel into their workforce not only reflects their compassion but also underscores their business acumen.”

Regions continues to promote veteran friendly careers by:

  • Creating BRAVE (Building Regions Associate Veteran Experience), a career transition program, which helps veterans and their spouses to transition to working as a civilian
  • Being a member of the MSEP (Military Spouse Employment Partnership). MSEP helps to connect military spouses with hundreds of employers that are committed specifically to the recruitment, hiring, promotion and retention of military spouses
  • Taking part in Hiring Our Heroes, a nationwide program that aids transitioning veterans and their families find career opportunities

The Military Friendly Silver Designation is awarded to companies who meet the requirements and score within 20% of the 10th ranking Employer in their category.
