Regions leadership changes announced Tuesday will elevate several executives as longtime Chief Administrative Officer Dave Keenan prepares to retire at the end of 2026.
Birmingham-based Regions Financial Corp. said Kate Danella, currently head of Consumer Banking, will succeed Keenan as chief administrative officer. John Jordan will move into Danella’s current role leading Consumer Banking, while Chief People Officer Angela Santone will begin reporting directly to Regions Chairman, President and CEO John Turner.
Keenan joined Regions predecessor AmSouth Bank in 2003 and has served as chief administrative officer since 2020. He previously spent a decade leading the company’s human resources operations and helped guide the organization through the Regions-AmSouth merger and the 2008 financial crisis.
“Dave’s leadership has strengthened every part of Regions Bank, and his commitment to developing future leaders positions us well for continued growth,” Turner said. “His sound judgment and unwavering commitment to doing what is right made Regions a stronger company and a better place to work.”
Keenan will transition into a leadership advisory role beginning Sept. 1 and remain with Regions through the end of the year.
Danella joined Regions in 2015 and has held leadership positions spanning wealth management, strategy, client experience and consumer banking. In her new role, she will oversee functions including strategic planning, digital banking, core-platform modernization, community and market engagement, corporate communications and customer advocacy.
Jordan joined Regions in 2024 after more than two decades at Bank of America. He currently leads Retail Banking and will assume responsibility for Regions’ broader Consumer Banking group, which includes the company’s branch network, mortgage business and consumer lending partnerships.
Santone joined Regions in 2025 following executive human resources roles at AT&T and Turner Broadcasting System.
Regions Financial has approximately $161 billion in assets and operates more than 1,200 banking offices across the South, Midwest and Texas.
