Manufacture Alabama on Monday endorsed Republican nominee Katherine Robertson for Alabama Attorney General in the November general election.
Robertson has spent nearly a decade as chief counsel to outgoing Attorney General Steve Marshall. She won the GOP nomination in June, defeating former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell in the runoff with about 55% of the vote.
“Katherine Robertson understands that a strong business climate depends on the rule of law, regulatory certainty and a willingness to stand up when federal policies threaten Alabama jobs and employers,” said Jon Barganier, president and CEO of Manufacture Alabama.
“Manufacturers need an Attorney General who understands the challenges facing our industry and is prepared to defend Alabama’s interests. Katherine has demonstrated that throughout her career, and we are proud to endorse her for Attorney General.”

According to the release, Robertson has helped lead the state’s challenges to federal overreach and its defense of Alabama’s constitutional authority during her time in the office, and her experience working alongside state leaders, law enforcement and the business community positions her to lead the office on day one.
“I’m grateful for Manufacture Alabama’s support,” Robertson said.
“For nearly a decade I’ve worked to protect Alabama businesses and workers from federal overreach, and as Attorney General, I’ll keep fighting to give our manufacturers the certainty they need to grow and create jobs right here at home.”
Robertson faces Democrat Jeff McLaughlin, a Guntersville attorney and former state representative, on Nov. 3.
