As winter begins to wind down, U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt is encouraging families to start planning spring break and summer trips to Washington, D.C., highlighting the capital’s rich history, iconic landmarks, and the availability of free attractions.

From historic monuments to world-class museums, Washington, D.C., offers an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. One of the major advantages of visiting the city is that many attractions, including the Smithsonian museums, the National Mall memorials, and Arlington National Cemetery, have no entrance fees.

“Spring will be here before we know it, and now is the perfect time to start planning your family’s trip to Washington, D.C.,” said Aderholt (R-Haleyville)

“Washington, D.C. is a wonderful place to visit, and I encourage families from Alabama to experience all it has to offer. If you’re planning a trip, please get in touch with my office to let us know you’ll be in town. We’re happy to help arrange tours and provide information to make your visit memorable.”

Aderholt is encouraging visitors to plan early, especially if they want to tour the White House.

“With the new administration moving into the White House, tours have not yet restarted but should soon. Tickets for White House tours are free and available through my office, but due to security protocols, we cannot process requests that come in less than 21 days before a visit,” the Congressman said. “In fact, we recommend requesting tickets at least three months in advance since they are granted on a first-come, first-served basis.”

The U.S. Capitol Building – Experience the heart of American democracy with a guided tour.
The Smithsonian Museums – Home to some of the nation’s most treasured artifacts, including the Wright Brothers’ plane, the Apollo 11 crew capsule, and Dorothy’s ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz.
The National Mall Memorials – A powerful tribute to American history featuring the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the World War II Memorial.
