Phenix City native releases new song ‘Gulf of America’

A new country song from a Phenix City native celebrating one of President Donald Trump’s recent diplomatic wins has gotten the attention of U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville.

Garrett Miles, who has been blind from birth, developed a love for music early on in his life and began to develop his talent through hard work and practice. The song, appropriately entitled “Gulf of America’, was released on Tuesday through Texas Red Records.

Noting Miles’ Alabama connection, Tuberville praised the song and performer in a post on X.

A portion of the lyrics for “Gulf of America” can be found below.

“All the way from South Point, Texas around and down through the Florida Keys. You can sail those Gulf Stream waters. Catch a ride on a summer breeze. And when the people fly, Ole Glory. Man, you couldn’t ask for more on the Gulf of America that patriotic shore.”

Miles also posted about his newly released single.
