Pete Buttigieg, USDOT Secretary, to visit Birmingham on Wednesday

According to a release, On Wednesday, U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg will visit Birmingham to promote a $14.5 million award to the city that the administration says will “help reconnect parts of the community that were divided by transportation decisions of the past.”

Buttigieg will be joined by U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham) and Mayor Randall Woodfin.

The official release also included a seven-page document detailing how the Biden administration’s infrastructure agenda is “Delivering in Alabama.”

In February, another Biden administration official, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra visited Birmingham to message on the subject of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) in the weeks before the Alabama Legislature safeguarded the practice from an earlier ruling by the Alabama Supreme Court.
