Pearl puts Auburn’s ridiculous schedule into perspective

The Auburn Tigers are in the midst of a special basketball season on The Plains and are now being viewed by many across the country as the best team in the nation.

With a current record of 20-1 and an undefeated mark in the highly competitive Southeastern Conference, it’s been an unbelievable year for the Tigers thus far with no signs of slowing down.

The dominant record has not been easily achieved as head coach Bruce Pearl pointed out on his X account:

With the release of the new AP Poll, Auburn has played or will play a ridiculous eight of the other nine top-ten teams.

Here are Auburn’s results thus far against the rest of the top ten:

No. 2 Duke: L 84-78

No. 3 Alabama: Scheduled for February 15, March 8

No. 4 Tennessee: W 53-51

No. 5 Houston: W 74-69

No. 6 Florida: Saturday, February 8

No. 7 Purdue: W 87-69

No. 8 Iowa State: W 83-81

No. 10 Texas A&M: Tuesday, March 4

It has certainly been a gauntlet of a schedule for Auburn, but they have passed multiple tests with flying colors. As things start to heat up and March approaches, the Tigers will need to stay at the top of their game to achieve the ultimate goal of capturing a national title.
