New details emerge on arrest of Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr.

New details have emerged surrounding the mysterious arrest and suspension of Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. this past weekend.

Shortly before Alabama’s game against Texas A&M, it was reported Kirkpatrick would be out and subsequently that it was a suspension due to a violation of team rules, the second time this has happened to him.

On Monday, DeBoer confirmed the suspension but did not elaborate, then a report from Tide 100.9 late Monday afternoon revealed Kirkpatrick was arrested on one count of doxxing, a class A misdemeanor, and a Class C misdemeanor for harassing communications.

“He’s not with us,” DeBoer said Monday to the Birmingham Quarterback Club. “We have an expectation and standard in our program, and the team rules, and things that go along with that. There’s still some details that I’m trying to understand, but it’s enough to where we know that’s not how we operate.”

On Tuesday, Nick Kelly of ALdotcom gave some more context to the charges, revealing that Kirkpatrick is alleged to have messaged a UAPD officer Oct. 20 and to have posted a photo of that officer’s family on Facebook, citing court records.

The officer was involved in Kirkpatrick’s 2025 arrest during a driving incident where he was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, one count of attempting to elude, and speeding, leading to his first suspension from the team.

What this means for Kirkpatrick’s future with the team remains to be seen, but it’s safe to say his status is very much in doubt now that he has been arrested and suspended twice in less than two seasons at Alabama.
