BIRMINGHAM, Ala — Yellowhammer confirmed Thursday that the yearly Business Council of Alabama’s (BCA) Chairman’s dinner will feature former Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill as its keynote speaker.
O’Neill is a highly decorated veteran with a list of accomplishments and accolades a mile long. Perhaps his most impressive claim to fame, however, is being the member of SEAL Team 6 who fired the shots killing terrorist leader and 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden.
The American hero was the subject of a Fox News exclusive special documentary “The Man Who Killed Usama Bin Laden,” which aired Veteran’s Day weekend 2014.
The BCA is a non-partisan statewide business association representing the interests and concerns of nearly one million working Alabamians through its member companies. The exclusive Alabama affiliate to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers, the Business Council of Alabama is the “foremost voice for business” in the state.
The Chairman’s dinner, a yearly thank you event for donors to the BCA’s non-partisan ProgressPAC’s “Carrying the Flag for Business Campaign.”
Last year former Florida governor and presidential hopeful Jeb Bush headlined the Chairman’s dinner. The previous year, fellow presidential hopefuls former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee and famed neurosurgeon Ben Carson delivered speeches.
This year’s dinner will occur on October 6th at the Sheraton Birmingham.
