In a year when Alabama secured over $7 billion in capital investment and more than 8,500 new job commitments, Montgomery distinguished itself with a series of impressive rankings:

Montgomery recorded $1.1 billion in capital investment and 497 new jobs in 2024, reinforcing the Capital Region’s readiness and strength in competing for major economic opportunities.

Montgomery’s strong performance is part of a broader trend. Over the past five years, the county has consistently ranked among the Top 3 in Alabama for either capital investment, job creation, or both.
Several key projects fueled Montgomery’s 2024 success:

Meta announced an $840 million data center project, enhancing the region’s role in the digital economy.

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama celebrated 20 years of operations in Montgomery, continuing to drive global recognition, workforce development, and supplier growth.

The Montgomery Inland Port broke ground on February 27, 2025, representing a $94 million investment to strengthen logistics and supply chain connectivity for companies such as Amazon and FedEx.

Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base and the defense sector generated a $2.6 billion economic impact, supporting jobs, innovation, and growth across Central Alabama.

The Chamber’s TechMGM initiative continued to lead the region’s STEM pipeline, fueling workforce development in sectors like defense, healthcare, IT, and advanced manufacturing.
The Capital Region also received national recognition in 2024, ranking among the Top 10 U.S. regions for project growth among I-85 corridor counties. Additionally, the Montgomery Chamber was named twice among the nation’s Top 20 Economic Development Organizations over the past decade by Site Selection Magazine.
