Jim “The Rookie” Morris is the basis of Disney’s movie with the same name. The movie shares the story of the oldest rookie to ever play Major League Baseball. It is a touching story about a man achieving his dreams later in life. Miraculously, Jim was able to throw faster at a later age, after major surgery, than he could in his youth.
While the story is great, it only shares a fraction of Jim’s life. After the movie came out, Jim’s life took a dramatic turn in a different direction. His marriage ended, he became addicted to drugs and alcohol, and he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, among other issues.
Now, Jim is free of addiction, and God has healed his disease. He has an amazing testimony that will inspire anyone.
