U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) believes that acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche is doing a great job and should be fully confirmed for the position as soon as possible.
Blanche was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee in a 12-10 vote, sending President Donald Trump’s pick to the Senate floor for a confirmation vote.
Britt, who sits on the Judiciary Committee, announced that she voted in favor of him Tuesday.
“Just voted to advance Todd Blanche’s nomination to be Attorney General out of Senate Judiciary,” Britt said on X. “Looking forward to getting him quickly confirmed and in place as AG!”

The senator also discussed her support for the nominee during a recent appearance on “Alabama Mornings with JT.”
“I’ll give you some examples of things that I had talked to Todd in private about,” Britt explained. “One of which was crime and DOJ continuing to be committed to working with local law enforcement, state law enforcement, like they’re doing in Alabama, continuing to elevate that. We know that when we look at the murder rate, it has gone down. It is at an all-time low. When we’re looking at you know kind of that that cooperation, it is actually yielding real results in communities across Alabama, and of course the nation.”

“But what I’m interested in is seeing that cooperation not only continue to be elevated,” she added. “I want I want every community in Alabama to be the safest community possible to raise and work and worship and you know have your family there. So we talked about that and got that commitment from him.”
