Alabama’s public leaders are reaffirming their support for Israel exactly three years since the terrorist attacks against the country on October 7, 2023.

“We will never forget the horrific attacks on the Israeli people October 7, 2023. And we will never forget who is responsible,” Gov. Kay Ivey said. “These same evil terrorists who massacred Israelis do not want America to exist. Thank you, @POTUS, for standing up for good and for fighting evil.”

On that day, the terrorist group Hamas broke down the barricades around Gaza, waged a surprise attack against innocent civilians in Israel, killed around 1,200 people and took 251 others hostage.

“Three years ago today, the Jewish people endured the deadliest day since the Holocaust,” U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) said. “We will never forget the innocent lives brutally taken by Hamas on October 7, the hostages ripped from their families, and the unimaginable pain inflicted that day and in its aftermath. Today, we remember those we lost and remain deeply grateful to President Trump for helping bring all of the hostages home.”

All living Israeli hostages held in Gaza were eventually released on October 13, 2025, following a U.S.-brokered peace agreement led by President Donald Trump.

“On October 7, 2023, more than 1,200 innocent lives were taken and families were forever changed by brutal terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas terrorists against Israel,” U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) said. “Today, we remember those who were murdered, pray for their families, and stand with all those who were affected by these attacks. America will never forget this evil and will always stand with Israel.”
