‘Just being a total ass’: Tuberville on Governor of Maine’s embarrassing confrontation with President Trump

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville didn’t mince words Wednesday when he took Maine Governor Janet Mills to task for her contentious back-and-forth remarks toward President Donald Trump at a recent White House event.

Immediately after the embarrassing exchange, Mills was critiqued by her constituents back home for what was viewed as disrespect toward the President.

During an appearance on “Outkick’s Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich”, Tuberville was discussing the effort by Democrats to force male athletes into women’s sports. The Senator said the pressure from the left goes against common sense and that Trump will not allow males to compete against females at any level.

“You know, he got millions of votes because he came out in the last three or four months and said, listen, this is not fair,” Tuberville (R-Auburn) said.

“Our country is about being fair. There’s nothing fair about these biological boys and men transitioning to a woman and then being able to participate. Because you know as well as I do, it’s a body structure, the strength, weight, and speed. It’s unfair. It’s really not safe.”

While on the topic, the discussion shifted to Mills’ White House stunt.

“That governor from Maine just being a total ass, to be honest with you, to the President of the United States, when he’s already said this is not going to happen.  She said, ‘Well, I’ll take you to court.’  And he goes, ‘Well, I’ll see you in court, because I happen to run the federal government.’ It just shows you how egotistical these people are,” Tuberville said. “Again, it’s just common sense that you don’t do this.”

Although looking less and less likely, Tuberville and Dakich discussed the troublesome possibility of men competing in female events in the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics.

“You know what worries me is the Olympics are coming up here in our country in Los Angeles in a couple, in a few years, and we do not need this to turn into a nightmare. It’s got to be men versus men, women versus women. But you know what? The radical left is going to try to make it like it’s a disaster that transitioned boys aren’t able to participate against women.”

“It just makes no sense. Under this president, it’s not going to happen.”
