In-state five-star receiver picks up crystal ball to Alabama in Tide vs. Tiger race

Things are starting to heat up in the recruitment of perhaps the most sought after prospect in the entire country, and certainly in the state of Alabama.

Ryan “Hollywood” Williams, a five-star wide receiver from Saraland, AL in the Mobile area is a superstar in every sense of the word, amassing over 4,600 all purpose yards along with a ridiculous 65 touchdowns over the last two seasons at Saraland.

Williams, who was a 2025 prospect and the No. 1 player in the nation, reclassified to 2024, skipping his senior year and remaining a top ten prospect even in a class with players a year or more older than him.

He had been committed to Alabama originally in October of 2022, but de-committed after Nick Saban’s retirement.

With Auburn and Texas pushing hard, Williams made headlines earlier in the week when it was announced that his official visit to Texas scheduled for this upcoming weekend was cancelled, likely making it an Alabama vs. Auburn race.

At least one major recruiting predictor, however, has crystal balled Williams to recommit to Alabama and stick with his original pledge rather than heading to The Plains:

Williams is coming off a visit last weekend to Alabama which reportedly went very well and is still scheduled to visit Auburn next weekend on February 2nd before he intends to sign on February 9th, his 17th birthday.

Landing Ryan Williams would be the first major domino for Kalen DeBoer being able to establish himself and his new staff as ace recruiters in the South.

By all accounts, it looks like he has a pretty good shot.
