Thousands of dollars have poured into the Alabama Democratic Party’s coffers from liberal California elites, Federal Election Commission filings show.
Individuals occupying powerful spaces in California’s entertainment industry, Big Tech and finance contributed a combined total of $17,116.34 from April 11 through Aug. 31, according to the party’s most recent FEC report.
Filmmaker Jake Kasdan, who produces content for Disney-owned 20th Century Television, contributed $1,308.85 to the Alabama Democratic Party.
The party received $1,245.11 from J.J. Abrams, who co-produced two films from the latest “Star Wars” trilogy.
Warner Bros. writer Chuck Lorre, who created hit sitcoms “Two and a Half Men” and “The Big Bang Theory,” appears on the party’s FEC filing as making a $264.71 donation.
Perhaps the most high-profile individual appearing on the State Democratic Executive Committee of Alabama’s FEC filing is Seth MacFarlane, the creator of hit Fox adult animation sitcom “Family Guy.” MacFarlane, an outspoken proponent of far-left causes, contributed $6,441.23 to the party.
The Alabama Democratic Party received a combined total of $1,300.74 from high-ranking Microsoft executives Bradford Smith, Rajesh Kumar Jha and Chris Capossela. The party also received contributions from Apple engineering director Robert Walker and Google software engineer Keith Schmidt.
Sherry Jiang, president of American West Pacific International Investment Corp., donated $264.71 for the benefit of Alabama Democrats.
In total, the Alabama Democratic Party received 20 financial contributions from the state of California.
