As reported by WKRG News, a series of letters written by the famed author of “To Kill a Mockingbird” were sold at a Los Angeles auction for over $12,000 Thursday night.
The bundles of 38 letters written to her friend Felic Itzkoff included topics covering her southern heritage, her father, Christianity, President Obama, and atheism.
Lee died in February of 2016 in her hometown of Monroeville, Al. Before her death, she had gained numerous notoriety for her writing, including being award a Pulitzer Prize. Her last novel, “Go Set a Watchman” was published only months before her death; she was 89.
