Fred Hunter retires from Alabama airwaves after 27 years with WBRC

After more than 27 years on Alabama television, WBRC Fox 6 meteorologist and reporter Fred Hunter bid farewell to TV viewers on Tuesday as he retired. The Fort Payne native wrapped up his storied career in a very Fred Hunter way, a simple thank you to viewers. Throughout his lengthy career, Hunter worked at TV stations in Texas and South Carolina but is best known for his many years at WBRC and hosting his Absolutely Alabama Segments that aired on TV stations throughout Alabama.
