The 5th Judicial Circuit District Attorney Mike Segrest’s office announced that four individuals have been indicted in connection to the Tuskegee University shooting that took place on November 10, 2024.

The suspects, all from Montgomery, were indicted on one count of discharging a firearm on school property on February 7, 2025. The individuals charged are:
- Jaquez Ke’Von Myrick, 25
- Jaylen Se’Quan Lassic, 21
- Romero Frazier II, 20
- La’Darius Ja’Quan Gantt, 21
According to the university’s website, the shooting resulted in one fatality—a victim who was not a Tuskegee University student. Additionally, 16 people were injured, including students, and received medical treatment at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika and Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery.
Authorities confirmed that Myrick is currently incarcerated at the Montgomery County Detention Facility, while the other three suspects have been arrested and placed in custody.
District Attorney Segrest expressed gratitude to the numerous law enforcement agencies assisting in the investigation, including:

- Alabama Attorney General’s Office
The investigation remains ongoing, and further details may be released as the case progresses.
