Finebaum says Alabama is being ‘disrespected’ by CFP pollsters – ‘completely shunned’

This past Saturday in Tuscaloosa, the Alabama Crimson Tide secured its biggest win of the season by defeating LSU in dominant 42-28 fashion and all but locking up the SEC West.

Alabama’s win and development as a team over the last month or so, however, has gone unnoticed by the College Football Playoff committee, with the Tide remaining in the 8th spot in the second edition of the CFP rankings.

While appearing on 105.5 WNSP in Mobile, ESPN and SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum stated that he believes Alabama has been “completely disrespected” by the pollsters this week.

“I viewed that as the biggest game of the season for Alabama, I thought they played a perfect game, and they were completely shunned. The nation basically said so what, we don’t care. This is not the number eight team in the country. This team is playing at a top five level,” Finebaum stated.

“I think it was an insult to the Alabama program for the committee to leave them at number eight, and with no rationale. Alabama is a better team than Oregon. Alabama is a better team than a lot of these teams. I understand the Texas game is haunting them but at some point you have to look at what you’re seeing today and not what you saw on September 9th.”

The Tide appear to be a much better team than they were at the beginning of the season, but thus far, it has not payed off. The Crimson Tide will likely need some help in addition to winning out in order to make the College Football Playoff.
