Family of prodigies in Montgomery set to produce a 19-year-old lawyer

A family in Montgomery that has seen nine of their 10 kids enter college by age 12 is set to produce a 19-year-old lawyer.

Parents Kip and Mona Lisa Harding, a couple who live in Alabama’s capital city, have 10 kids. So far, nine of them have entered college by age 12. Their youngest is still 10 years old, and he is already studying for the ACT.

A new report from WSFA details that Seth Harding, the sixth-youngest in the family, is set to become a lawyer by age 19.

Seth passed his final high school exams at age 10, received his undergraduate degree from Huntingdon College by age 16, and graduated from the University of Alabama’s School of Law this spring.

Now 19, Seth is prepping for the bar exam.

“For the past 100 years no one’s ever sat for the bar in our state at the age of 19 or younger and I’ll be the first,” Harding told WSFA.

Seth’s competition may be coming from inside the house. His little sister Katrinnah, 17, is now in her second year at Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law.

Mona Lisa and Kip homeschooled each of their kids to make their accelerated education possible.

“We think that any parent can home school you just have to hang in there and work through the rough spots,” Mona Lisa explained to WSFA.

The Hardings published a book in 2014 called “The Brainy Bunch” in which they detail their home-schooling methods.
