Congressman Bradley Byrne (AL-01) reacted Monday to a viral video of masked Antifa members blocking an elderly woman using a walker from crossing a public street in Ontario, Canada.
The video, shot at Mohawk College, showed the self-proclaimed “anti-fascists” stopping the woman before shouting expletives at her and her husband.

“Antifa is now terrorizing & disrespecting the elderly,” Byrne lamented in a Facebook post about the video.
“This hate group is dangerous & it’s about time they receive some tough justice for this violent behavior,” he added. “I’m calling on every American – including every Democrat – to disavow this evil group.”
As reported by the Daily Caller, former Vice President Joe Biden, a 2020 Democratic presidential front candidate, “endorsed Antifa in a video announcing his presidential bid” in April.
A short time later that same day, Senator Doug Jones (D-AL) tweeted out his support of Biden’s campaign.
Jones faces tough reelection prospects in 2020, with the list of GOP challengers currently including former Auburn University head football coach Tommy Tuberville, Byrne, Secretary of State John Merrill, former Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore and State Rep. Arnold Mooney (R-Indian Springs).
Alabama’s Republican primary will be held on March 3.
