As the end of the regular season draws closer, there are still a ton of remaining questions across college football.
The Yellowhammer State is not unique in that way — but the only thing we know for sure is that both Alabama and Auburn will at least play in a bowl game.
Of course, for Alabama, their hopes for the College Football Playoff are still alive, in which case they’d be playing in either the Rose Bowl or the Sugar Bowl.
The Crimson Tide will need to win out at Auburn and against Georgia and possibly get some help as well for that to happen, which is why many of the projections still have them out of it.

For Auburn, it’s a bit of a different situation. Once the Tigers earned their fifth win at Vanderbilt with a likely win against New Mexico State, the projections before the Arkansas game looked at bowls around the Birmingham Bowl tier. But after the win against Arkansas – Auburn’s sixth of the season – and a likely (at least) seven-win season, it has upped the level of game that the Tigers could qualify for.
