BIRMINGHAM — According to CareerBliss, an online workforce information hub cited by Forbes Magazine, Birmingham is one of the happiest cities in America to work.
CareerBliss measured work-life balance, employees’ relationship with their boss and co-workers, general work environment, compensation, opportunities for advancement, company culture, and resources to uncover which cities provide the most fulfilling, and happiest, places to work.
“Where you live can definitely impact your overall happiness and even your perceived happiness in your career,” said CEO and co-founder of CareerBliss Heidi Golledge. “If the majority of companies in a city foster a work environment that encourages career growth and time to enjoy a lifestyle outside of work, there is a very high chance that employees in that city are going to be happier with their jobs then in cities with work cultures who have less work life balance and career growth.”
Birmingham clocks in at #9, ranking above New York City and several other large business centers.
Here are the top 10:
10. New York, New York
9. Birmingham, Alabama
8. San Antonio, Texas
7. Hartford, Connecticut
6. Los Angeles, California
5. Washington, D.C.
4. Orlando, Florida
3. Las Vegas, Nevada
2. Sacramento, California
1. Miami, Florida
With this news coming on the heels of the 2021 World Games announcement, there’s a growing narrative that the magic is back in the Magic City.
