Birmingham-based BL Harbert lands $124.8 million Army contract for Georgia barracks project

A Birmingham-based construction firm has secured a $124.8 million U.S. Army contract to build new housing for enlisted personnel at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

According to a U.S. Department of War contract announcement released March 30, BL Harbert International LLC was awarded a firm-fixed-price contract to construct barracks for unaccompanied enlisted personnel.

The contract, valued at $124,752,752, was awarded following a competitive bidding process that drew five submissions. Work will be performed at Fort Stewart, with an estimated completion date of April 5, 2029.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Savannah District is listed as the contracting activity.

The same announcement also included additional Alabama ties, including a $34.7 million contract modification awarded to Hexagon US Federal Inc., Huntsville, Alabama, to support the Marine Corps’ Consolidated Emergency Response System.

In a separate award, Range Generation Next LLC received a $14.1 million modification for ongoing support of operations at the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site.
