Bill Roark’s Freedom Real Estate Story

Established in 2014, Freedom Real Estate is the creation of Torch Technologies co-founder Bill Roark. As CEO of Torch, Roark guided the organization to national recognition as one of Forbes’ Small Giants in the America’s Best Small Companies list and Entrepreneur magazine’s Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in America. Torch is now one of the largest federal contractors in the nation, with 1,200 employee owners.

As Torch’s popularity soared, Roark founded Freedom Real Estate to invest in and manage commercial properties. The company offers a wide range of services, including property brokerage, tenant representation, property management, and developing projects through its in-house development and construction arm. The team at Freedom Real Estate is highly experienced and uses this expertise to provide valuable advice and consultation to local developers, organizations, and businesses throughout the development process.

Roark says Freedom was founded on the basis of ethical fair play and the desire to provide the best results for the company’s stakeholders.

“Freedom’s success has been propelled by our past business success and reputation for integrity that was established by our sister company Torch Technologies,” stated Roark. “We also recruited highly successful people to the company that brought exemplary reputations for business integrity and outstanding performance. We believe in being an open book with our clients and that has also helped us forge strong business partnerships.”

The ability to develop its own properties has given Freedom a unique advantage in the ever-expanding North Alabama market. The recently developed, 92,000 square-foot, multi-tenant building on Chris Drive in South Huntsville features a mix of office, research and development labs, light manufacturing, assembly, and integration space along with a high bay.

In the first quarter of 2023, Freedom has two significant projects breaking ground. In North Huntsville, the company is building a 70-acre industrial park that will include multiple industrial facilities totaling around 700,000 square feet. This park will be located across from the Toyota Motor Manufacturing plant. In South Huntsville, Freedom is developing a class A 72,000-square-foot office facility at Hays Farm.

Roark is excited for Freedom to continue building up the North Alabama region, one relationship at a time.

“We are local market experts in the business of long-term ownership and management of commercial real estate,” stated Roark. “We are dedicated to building relationships in the community and with our clients.”
