Longtime Madison resident and City Councilman Teddy Powell has been endorsed by the Business Council of Alabama in the House District 10 special election, the BCA announced today. The special general election is scheduled for March 26, 2024.
Powell’s career revolves around service to the Department of Defense as a budget analyst and a long resume of service to Madison city, which he points out, was ranked as the No. 1 place to live in Alabama in July.
Throughout his tenure on the Madison City Council, Powell has prioritized education, strategic economic and infrastructure development, preservation and revitalization, and business expansion within the city, BCA said.

Powell also serves on the council’s Finance Committee, the Industrial Development Board, and the Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals, and is the council representative to the Historic Society.

Powell received a business administration and finance degree from Birmingham-Southern College and a master’s in business administration from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
House District 10 encompasses south and west Huntsville, Madison, Triana, and Redstone Arsenal. The special general election is scheduled for March 26, 2024.
