U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is inquiring why two suspected terrorists were released after attempting to illegally access Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia.
Moore joined a letter led by Rep. Andy Biggs demanding answers from the Biden-Harris administration following the release of two Jordanian nationals, Hasan Yousef Hamdan and Mohammad Khair Dabous.
“The release of these individuals, especially one on a terror watchlist, is part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s revolving door of catastrophic mistakes that endanger the lives of American families,” Moore said. “The American people deserve answers and assurances that our national security is being prioritized.”
Despite Hamdan being on a terror watchlist, both individuals were released on bail by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“It is clear now that this administration values the desires of illegal aliens—including those who intend to commit acts of terror—over the safety of American citizens,” the letter said. “Not only does this administration allow suspected terrorists to cross the southwest border and parole them into the country, but even when those same individuals engage in potential terrorist activity this administration continues to release them into the country based simply on promises to reappear at court hearings.”
Moore and his colleagues are urging the Biden administration to provide answers by August 31, 2024, regarding the conditions of their release and the broader implications for border security.
“The American people are tired of the recklessness of this administration’s border and immigration policies,” they argued, “and demand that illegal aliens who commit crimes be detained and held accountable.”
